i'm back

This post has been a long time coming. I've been wanting to restart my blog for months and I'm so happy that I'm finally in a position where I can do that. A lot has changed since my previous post, things are definitely looking up for me!

At the beginning of the year I passed my driving test and got a new car. Going into test day I didn't feel at all confident as I missed some lessons leading up to the big day. I was very lucky that I had a great examiner and a relatively easy test, passing was a huge relief for me as it opens up so many doors. Me and my boyfriend have been looking at moving in together properly and now we can look wherever we want, as we can both now drive to work.

I also got a new job! Unfortunately things in my last job were spiralling and slowly going down hill. It was becoming a very negative and stressful place to work, so I made the hard decision to leave. I was fortunate enough to land one of my dream jobs with a company who has amazing values behind them. My new job is also less hours which was very appealing to me as it means I can focus on my other passions (including my blog 😉) alongside my work. I'm honestly living the dream at this point.

The past few months I've been planning and creating new content for you to enjoy. I have so many things to talk about now and new ideas that I can't wait for you to see. If you like what you see please pass this blog onto a friend to read so we can keep the conversations growing.

where i am now

This past year has been one of the hardest for me. I've dealt with disappointment, grief and a whole lot of rejection. Not to mention constant lockdowns and uncertain times in our society. I've been spending a lot of time reflecting and asking myself what do I really want from life? Which I have a few things I can say about now.

Before that let's rewind 2020 wasn't that bad. Before the world stopped I went to Disneyland and experienced the holiday of a lifetime. I also saw Halsey play a sold out show at the 02,  as well as lots of other antics in London that I got to experience with my incredible boyfriend Henry (2 and a half years and still going strong). Then the first lockdown hit and boy was that a roller coaster of emotions.

In the summer of 2020, I went camping for the second time in my life.. the first being Boardmasters which I will never do again! We went to the very lovely Roadford Reservoir and I got very sunburnt! Then towards the end of summer I went to Longleat! This is now one of my favourite places, what an experience that was. The place was buzzing was some interesting animals and some interesting tour guides. We got to experience one of the boat trips which was incredible and our tour guide was super funny, even though he picked on me!

Come the fall it was time to celebrate Henry's 24th birthday. We experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity, in having dinner at the aquarium in front of the shark tanks. A week later I was then invited to stay with my cousin Marcus at Landal Gwel An Mor. It was so kind of him to invite me to this little getaway and boy did I need it.

Then in November the second lockdown hit and I was once again off work. I did feel better about this one though. As it was the lead up to Christmas it was nice to have some time to experience cosy winter days and binge watch lots of Christmas films. My birthday fell right at the end of that lockdown and we made the most of it with what we could. Henry decorated the living room with balloons and I was very spoilt with my gifts. Once the restrictions lifted we spent time with close friends to celebrate.

Christmas was such a weird time with the rules changing last minute, but yet again we made the most of the situation and spent it with family. Shortly after Christmas we were plummeted into another lockdown (hopefully the last). And yet again my emotions were a roller coaster.

During the lockdowns I was trying my best to stay active and stay creative. I've always been a creative person so why not explore that while I had the time? I made wax melts, did a little cross stitching, made birthday cards, completed jigsaw puzzles, made some cakes and played a hell of a lot of animal crossing. Time well spent right?

I also realised during lockdown that as much as I love my little flat, I need more room so me and my boyfriend can live comfortably. We viewed a couple houses and made an offer but unfortunately didn't work out.

Then coming out of lockdown my cat, Scamp, started getting sick. It started off as an overactive thyroid and ended in kidney disease and a tumour in the back of his throat. He passed away early June. This was honestly one of the hardest times in my life and I still struggle with his loss most days.

I recently went for a promotion in the company I work with, which unfortunately I was unsuccessful with. They say bad things come in threes so my bad luck must be running out by now, right?

On the brighter side of things my very clever boyfriend has landed himself an apprenticeship. It's one he'll have to commute to for a bit but we hope to move closer to where he works to make life easier for him. Soo much has happened this year and there's still so much to come. I really want something good to come from this year so, from now on it's positive vibes only. I am finally excited about the future I get to build from now on. After all I'm in the drivers seat and I get to control my own happiness.

Things I Bought During Lockdown

I pretty sure everyday I spent in quarantine, I would spend a portion of my day browsing through the internet of thing that I could buy. Whether that would be clothes, make-up or things for around the house.. even if I didn't need it I thought there's no harm in looking. I'm sure I'm not the only one who did this.. I mean what else was there to do in times of boredom? I thought I'd show you guys some of the things I bought during quarantine. I didn't actually spend too much surprisingly as I would look at things most days, I would usually add things to my basket and chicken out when I'd seen how much I'd spent. On that note let me show you what I bought..

The very very first thing I bought when we went into lockdown was animal crossing. Henry recommended me to buy it as he knew I'd get bored straight away. It took a little while for me to get into the game but now I'm completely obsessed! During lockdown I'd usually spend the first few hours of my day playing this and even now on my days off that's what I'll do. My island is called 'Wolftown', the name came to me straight away. I'm really happy with my progress on my island. Every now and then I'll see my friends post things they've done on their island or I'll see a YouTube video of a 5 star island and it really inspires me to make mine better. Here's a few pictures of what I've done..

At the beginning of lockdown I had a huge wardrobe clear out as it's been something I've been meaning to do for a while. A lot of things no longer fitted me or I'd outgrown or were just very old. Something that I did need though, were some new joggers for lounging around the house in. I'd normally buy some cheap ones as no one would see me wearing them but they usually wouldn't last me very long. I decided to spend a bit more on them, so they'd last a bit longer. I ended up buy these ones from Urban Outfitters. I'd seen a lot of people wearing these, they looked super comfy and over-sized, which is why I picked them. I also ended up buying the matching bubble hem sweater. I got a good deal on these, after downloading the UO app I got given a voucher for 20% off which was even better. I'm really happy with this set I'd rate it 10/10 for comfort and the quality looks good so far.

Another thing I bought to help with isolation boredom were these jigsaw puzzles. I honestly woke up one day and had this intense desire to do a jigsaw puzzle but didn't have any in the house. I bought these two from Utility Gift. I really like the design of these two, plus they were both 1000 pieces so I knew that would keep me occupied for a while. I did these on my make up desk, which is also part drawer and has a slot in the middle to pull out, when I did the second puzzle one piece fell though the slot. If you look really closely on the second picture you'll see one missing piece, which is really annoying but there was no way to get to it.

Before Christmas my headphones broke, luckily I found a pair hidden in one of my cupboards, but the quality on them weren't that great so I thought it was about time I'd have an upgrade. I saw an AD for the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ and I thought they looked super cool. Henry recently bought a pair of the wireless Jay's buds and after trying them out I knew I wanted something similar. Over the bank Holiday weekend Samsung were doing a great deal on the Buds+ reducing their price by £80, anyone who knows me knows I love a good deal and I had to snap them up! The quality is amazing and the battery life lasts so long. They sit comfortably in my tiny ears (which is something I was afraid of) which you can see below. I absolutely love these and would be lost without them now!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little round up of some of the things I bought during lockdown, comment below any purchases you might have made. I'll be back with a new haul post very soon!

I'm Back!

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I started my blog, time really does fly when your having fun. Through the years blogging has given me so many amazing opportunities from covering fashion week, to starting my own radio show and even getting signed to my first modelling contract. Most importantly blogging gave me a voice and a platform to share my life and my mental health journey. I was able to inspire others by sharing my story and even encourage my own healing in the process. You must all be wondering what happened? Why did she stop? Honestly, I had some growing up to do. I needed to do it on my own without the pressure to create uplifting content in times that felt overwhelming for me. In January 2019 I got offered an incredible opportunity to pursue my career and in order to achieve this I had to move to a new county, away from my friends and family. This was a decision I made myself, to create a better life (not that there was anything wrong with it in the first place). I wanted freedom, independence and a change of scenery. A chance to go somewhere new and start over. To be the best version of myself.

As new and exciting as this all sounds, it did come with it's challenges. The first few weeks of living in my flat, I had no living room furniture, empty cupboards, unpacked boxes and curtains that my grandmothers table cloth would be ashamed of! This was not what I had planned! I always aspire to perfection in everything that I do, the fact that my flat wasn't perfect straight away and didn't resemble any of my pinterest folders, was something I had to get over very quickly. I learnt that perfection doesn't happen over night. My flat felt a bit more complete when my cat Scamp moved in on the 16th February 2019. I left him at home with my mum while I settled into my place and decided to move him in later on. I missed him so much and I was thrilled when my landlord said he could move in. Then February 27th 2019 another love came into my life, my boyfriend Henry. We met through work and the second I saw him the sparks started flying. We made it official at an 'As It Is' concert. I had no idea who the band were and I remember listening to them non-stop for about 48 hours before the concert, so I knew a few of their songs beforehand. I love him so much and I honestly can't imagine what my life would be like without him. Since he came into my life, he's made me so happy. He's really been my rock for all the challenges the last 18 months have brought me. We are a team and we're so much stronger together.

In August 2019, I had my first headline show in Exeter. If you don't already know I go by the name SILVER for my modeling and music pages. I love to sing in my spare time and I'm always looking for new opportunities to perform. It's something that I love and wish I could do more of. I was fortunate enough to be able to hold a show at Coolings and I was overjoyed with the incredible turnout it had! With it being my first show in Exeter I was extremely nervous and I had no idea what to expect. My friends came out to support me and it all went so well.. I didn't want to get off the stage! On the flip side of that days later, I had a slight health scare. I was away at Brighton pride weekend and I was having excruciating stomach pains that would leave me doubled over in pain. I had no idea what was causing it. Crohn's runs in my family and I was showing symptoms, my mind went straight to the worst case scenario. When I got home I got registered with a doctor and made my first appointment within 24 hours (that's at least 10 adult points.. how many 22 year olds do you know that make their own doctors appointments?). I was so grateful that they could make this happen in such a short amount of time because I was in alot of pain. After countless appointments and blood tests. I got the all clear! They weren't 100% sure what caused the pain but they were certain that it wasn't Crohn's, which was a huge weight off my shoulders. When the pain was at it's worse I hardly ate and after this was over, I had gained a new found respect for food and my body. I had disordered eating patterns beforehand and I did exercise alot. When I felt well enough again I stopped going to the gym and focused more on fuelling my body and rebuilding my relationship with food. It was a wake up call.

One of the hardest things about moving away is not being around your friends and family. I'm quite a reserved person it can take a while for someone to really get to know me and knock down my walls. In times of sadness I'd wish to be around them, just to have someone that knew me and knew what to say to make me feel better. I had my first Christmas away from home with Henry and his family. We had the most wonderful day but I did have a moment on Christmas morning of feeling incredibly homesick. This was a huge step for me and something out of a normal Christmas day routine. In that respect I wish I could have been with both Henry and his family and my own. I was in both places in spirit for sure. We needed up having a lovely day filled with good food and great company and to top it all off a trip to Disneyland Paris at the end of January.. excited was an understatement! My best friend Laura came to visit me multiple times in the past 18 months. I would have gone completely insane if I didn't have some quality Megan and Laura time. There's nothing better then catching up, having deep emotional life chats and drinking gin with your bestie. Plus there's an all you can eat breakfast buffet around the corner from where I live, which she can't resist! Without the love and support of all of the incredible people I've listed and so many more. I couldn't have done this move without them. There were times where it would have been easy for me to give up and go back packing to Cornwall, but I stuck to it and kept picking myself back up when life would get me down. I honestly wouldn't change a thing and I can't wait to see what the future has in store!

Little Things I Love About My Flat

After moving to Exeter almost 3 months ago, I can happily say that I've settled into my new way of living so well. I've faced many challenges from meal planning to decor to cat separation anxiety. All of which I can do separate blog posts on if that's the kind of thing you'd like to read about 😂 I'm at a point now where I'm super happy and comfortable with the space that I'm in and I thought I'd give you an insight to some little things I love about my flat and where you can get some of the items that I'm going to feature.

Let's start with the living room! I wanted to create an inspiring space full of things I love and motivate me. The colour scheme I've gone with is grey, black, purple, rose gold and blush. All of my furniture was assembled with my own hands which was a huge achievement for me.. as much as I love my arts and crafts I'm not usually one for D.I.Y but thankfully the Ikea instructions were all pictures which made my life soo much easier! My sofas are from an affordable range at Argos which I thought was perfect for starting out in, I'm sure overtime I'll look at upgrading but I'm absolutely in love with what I have. My pink throw, sequin and white cushions are all from Primark. My watercolour cushions and wall stickers are from SHEIN. It was my first time ordering from SHEIN and I have to say I'm very impressed with their quality at such great prices! My TV stand, coffee table, desk and book case are all from the V range at Ikea. I love my desk! I've always wanted a proper desk, over the years I've prioritised having make up space rather than an office space, but now I have the perfect space where I can work on my content. On my fireplace I have a collection of photos, polaroids and fairy lights which I've acquired over time, this is probably my favourite area in my flat, makes me smile everytime I look at it.

Now onto my bedroom. My bedroom at home was very personally to me, it was a room I can go to to shut the world out and this still applies. I've gone with a theme of grey, blush and mustard. My bedding was all from Primark. I love the colours so much from my bedding it all works together so well and it makes my bedroom look so colourful and pretty. Wall sticker from SHEIN, I'm a sucker for a motivational quote, it was a no brainer getting this out up. Desk was a vintage find on ebay. Desk chair and the rest of my bedroom furniture is from Argos. (Let me know if you'd like a separate post on how I organise my make up, which is all part of my desk).

My kitchen is the one room in my flat that I have a bad relationship with! I might as well put up a sign on the door saying "send help". I can't cook to save my life and it stresses me out so much. My kitchen is pretty basic it has everything I need, oven, fridge, microwave, washing machine, cupboards.. ya know the basic stuff. My bin was from Wilko. My trolley was a good find from Tiger at only £15, I felt like I needed more space in my cupboards so this was the perfect edition to help me de-clutter. As you can see my cat is now living with me in my flat and I love him so much! He has a special shelf dedicated to all of his food and treats (I couldn't take a picture of his adorable bowls because he's such an animal and always makes such a mess). My microwave was a moving in present from my lovely grandparents. And that sums up the kitchen.

My bathroom also stressed me out. When I moved into the flat there were a few outstanding issues of things they needed to sort out one of them is my shower, the doors don't close properly and my light fitting is forever breaking, which is a bit of a pain! All of my bathroom accessories are from Primark and my storage tower is from Argos (5 hours later into building.. I have drawers aha).

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into my flat. It may not be perfect to some but it's perfect to me and I'm so grateful for what I have.

2019 and my biggest challenge

Hi everyone, just wanted to start off by wishing you all a happy New Year (little late to the party I know). What a year 2018 was.. or as I like to say #20gayteen 🎉 The year started off kinda shakey but then came the summer of a lifetime! I went to the Taylor Swift Reputation Stadium World Tour at Wembly. I partied the whole pride season with Bristol, Plymouth, Cornwall and it's Britney Bitch.. only went and saw the queen at Brighton Pride! Come the fall I went to London Fashion Week, met designer Katharine Hamnett, saw Halsey and Hayley Kiyoko LIVE! Not to mention seeing Carrie Hope Fletcher in Heathers and Michelle Visage in Everybody's Talking About Jamie. Days before Halloween I met 2 of my idols and vlogging sensations Rose and Rosie. Then to truly top my year off I sat next to Mama RuPaul while watching Todrick Hall in Chicago! 2018 has been an incredible year and I want to thank you so much for your continued support, not only from me but Silver. I've been so astonished with everything I've achieved this past year.

So whats next you ask? Well I'm starting the biggest journey there is.. adulthood (dun dun duuunnn)! January 4th I moved into my new flat in Devon which is about 2 hours away from home. There are countless reasons why I chose to move..

A. To gain more freedom. I've been talking about moving out since I turned 18 but was always afraid of the risk and worried about being lonely living on my own. Since moving I've had a real chance to connect with myself and realise what's important in my life.

B. I love Cornwall don't get me wrong but it's so quiet and sometimes can be a little backwards. I wanted to move to a bigger city, with brighter lights (a nandos and a gay bar) and more oppetunities. I knew I had to move for work and there are plenty more venues here and oppertunities for gigs for Silver too.

C. It was the right time. I felt truly ready and dependant and I can't wait to see what this next chapter has in store. Not only will I be turning into a proper adult this year but I want to create more content. I forgot how much I love making videos and writing blog posts so this year there will be tonnes more of that (once my broadband get a installed 🤞).

In terms of Silver, I honestly want to keep gigging, trying out new material and maybe release a couple of my own songs. The world is my oyster and the options are endless. On a scale of 1-10, I'd probably say I'm about a 10 excited about life right now. I hope you guys had an incredible new year! Let me know what your 2019 plans are in the comments 👇👇

me a model: a few words

For years I've had a love/hate relationship with modelling. I've seen first hand the damages that it can do to a person and the success you can gain from it. The fashion industry is everything to me.

I was persuaded to start modelling a few years back, after I posted some pictures onto my blog that got alot of attention. I never expected to get signed straight away, I first joined the agency AMA which is now known as Cornwall Models and Promotions. My contract is up and I'm in 2 minds as the wether to re-sign or not. I love modelling which is why I'd never want to give it up completely. It's so intimidating when you meet promoters or photographers and all they care about is your shape and wether you have a nice pair of tits or not. It's fair enough that some promoters might have a particular idea of what they want in mind and when meeting someone like me they'll know instantly wether or wether not I meet that criteria, so why waste my time and stare at my chest if you already know I'm not what your looking for? I don't appreciate that as a model and a woman.

There is alot of pressure that comes along with modelling. You constantly have to be on your 'A' game, workout, eat healthy and look good all of the time in case a job comes up but sometimes that's not always achievable. For example whenever I'm due on my period my stomach bloats and I mean alot, I usually go up a dress size for that short period of time which is something I can't control. It makes me feel so self conscious going to shoots in that state because a photographer could literally drop me just for that. I read an article recently about Karlie Kloss, who is a model I've been inspired for, for years and she lost jobs when she went on the contraceptive pill because it made her gain a little weight.. why should that matter? She's only taking care of her health. She's still a gorgeous 6ft something incredible woman.

I had a conversation with someone recently who referred to me as being 'an expert' at modelling.. which is far from the truth, I'm still starting out really. They asked for my advice and all I had to say was be true to you, have fun and experiment and know your audience, which I think is key. We all have those people that we look up to and you never know that person could be you! What kind of message are you putting out to the world? What do you stand for? Who do you represent? Who do you inspire? These are all important questions you should ask yourself regularly, to help keep you grounded and true to who you are.

Modelling In.. Truro Trend

The 1st October marks the beginning of Truro Fashion Week. The annual celebration took a break last year but this year it's back and bigger then before. Over the years Truro town has seen lots of developments with shops being added to our highstreet. In 2016 Primark opened their doors. Bringing tonnes of business and oppertunities into Truro. I am delighted to announce that I'll be modelling for Primark the UK's number 1 fashion retailer, in the upcoming Truro Trend event.

I've been modelling for a few years now on and off. I go threw phases of having a love/hate relationship with it. This is going to be my first ever catwalk, on one hand that's so exciting and on the other hand it's terrifying 🙈 I've seen so many videos of models falling on the catwalk and getting criticized. You know a shows gone well when you've not been turned into an internet meme the day after! Fingers crossed everything will run smoothly.

I had my first run through for the show a couple days ago and it went really well! All I'm going to say is the other shops better bring it! Because Primark has something spectacular in the works.

Truro Trend is a catwalk event taking place at the Cathedral on Wednesday 3rd October. During this evening local retailers will showcase their A/W ranges. There will also be oppertunities to shop around and take a look at the stalls to see all of the incredible things that Truro has to offer. The event starts at 7pm and tickets are only £10. It's would be lovely to see some familiar faces there for some support.

I've attended the event in previous years and it's such a lovely evening. It's a great chance to get together with friends and have a few cheeky proseccos. Sit back and relax, as you watch models strut their stuff on the runway in the latest fashions. Other stores you'll be seeing on the runway include - Accessorize, Monsoon, Animal, Cliffside Clothing, Enjoy, Little Boutique, Mistral, Moss Bros, No22, Quba & Co, Ula, New Look and of course Primark.

Tickets are available now on Eventbrite here. To find out more information on this event and exclusive offers happening around Truro Fashion Week, check out the Truro Trend Facebook page here.

balance

The last few months for me, my schedule has been crazy busy. I've been overworked, exhausted and even developed anemia because I wasn't taking care of myself. Sometimes when I feel lonely I look for distractions and I end up taking on more work then I need to. I struggle to say 'no' to opportunities, even if it means taking up all of my free time. Don't get me wrong, I'm never ungrateful for the opportunities that come my way, I just don't know when to stop. There often comes a point when everything builds up and I'm overwhelmed with anxiety.

Finding balance has taken some time and I think I've finally cracked it. Before hand I'd work all day, go to the gym, come home, go through emails, plan my schedule and go through everything I need to prepare for what I'm up to and before I'd know it, it would be 12am and I'd have 6 hours before I'd have to get up and do it all again the next day. Now I work all day, go to the gym, spend 1 hour going through schedules, watch an episode on Netflix to un wind (currently watching Once Upon A Time) and then go to bed by 10pm. I find by getting a good night sleep I'm able to preserve my energy for my other commitments and spending less times planning means I'm not taking on too much as well.

When planning my schedule I'm trying not to over do things. If I know I have a busy week coming up, I'll allow myself some down time either side of that week. So I can recharge my batteries and un wind. Whereas before it would be constant go, go, go.

Instead of stressing and constantly thinking 'what if', I let my emotions out. If I'm worried about something I'll speak to the person involved with the project direct, ask questions and let them know how I'm feeling. They're there to support me and bring out the best in me not tear me down.

Everyday I'm learning. For months I've been living in a constant cycle of overdoing things and getting sick and I'd have people say to me 'you need a break' but every time I'd ignore it. Now I'm finally listening.

staying strong

I've been giving people blank stares. I've been living my life in a body, that's sometimes feels like a prison. The last few months have been challenging both physically and mentally. I've been put into situations that I didn't think I'd be put into. I've felt pressure more than ever before and at times I've felt completely out of control of my life. I lost my way for a little while. I distanced myself from the people that care about me and caused more damage in the process. Today I woke up with a new perspective and I hope this feeling doesn't fade away too soon.

A few things I've learnt..

1. When people show concern or try and help you.. let them help you instead of pushing them away. Even though you might feel like you have everything under control, you might not and they might see something that you can't.

2. Loneliness is brutal but the pain that you're feeling now won't last forever.

3. When people give you a compliment, wear it like a badge of honor. They're not trying to tear you down, only lift your spirits.

4. If your heart is telling you something.. its probably right and you should follow your instincts, even though it may cause pain temporarily.

5. Start communicating with the people around you when your not feeling well. Your only human, everyone has an off day.

You can't predict what each day will bring. Some days you'll have no control over things that happen but, that doesn't mean it's your fault and you have to take a hold of that responsibility. Anxiety comes in all shapes and sizes. Hold your head high, start conversations, help end the stigma. It's called staying strong.

Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

June marks the start of pride month and I thought I'd take this opportunity to talk a little bit about what pride means to me and the misconceptions around pride festivals.

After years of struggling with my sexuality and being afraid to put a label on how I identify. Last year I became more accepting and proud to identify as being Bisexual. Up until that point I refused to put myself into a category because a part of me was scared about what other people would think. I was scared people would call me greedy and have misconceptions about bisexuality. I've had conversations with people who have just assumed that I'm attracted to everyone, when that's not the reality. For example if I walk into a bar I'm not going to find everyone in that bar attractive it's just a feeling I get and it's who I fall for and whether their male or female that doesn't really matter to me, as long as I feel happy. At the end of the day love is love why should anyone's opinions stand in the way of that?

One of the major misconceptions I find with pride, is that people will call it 'Gay Pride'.. it's not just gay people that go to pride! It's LGBTQIA+ Pride if you wanted a full title, and that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, ally and plus, which is everyone queer in between. I'm guessing you'll be able to see my frustration when someone will assume and call it 'Gay Pride' instead of just Pride. I feel very passionate that the language we use when addressing this community is vital and it shows the decency that you've been educated and understand parts of this community.. it's just having manners in my opinion!

Another misconception about pride is that 'straight' people take advantage of pride and uses it as a mini festival and a chance to party. I understand were people are coming from with this point and it can be seen as rude and disrespectful especially when pride is almost like a protest to be visible to the world and share and celebrate who they are. I can understand that 'straight' people rocking up just for a chance to party could be seen as a little out of line. On the other hand by them showing up it shows that they're our allays for this community and that they support us. It's an on going debate that I've heard a lot about in the LGBT community and I'd love to know your thoughts about that in the comments.

Overall, pride to me is a celebration of every single person who is apart of this community. To every single person who is brave enough to come out, even though it may not fit the expectations that society puts on us. Pride is a chance to celebrate how far the LGBT movement has come and a chance to re evaluate just how far we still have to go.

Happy Pride Month Everyone 🏳️‍🌈 I hope to see many of you out and about at pride! This year I'll be going to Bristol, Brighton, Plymouth and Cornwall pride, can't wait to see all of you!

2017 Round Up!

January 1st | I kick started the year off in style, in this 1920's get up at what was Deja Vu's 'Gangsta and Dolls' New Year Eve's party.

January 21st | I started a new project and hosted my own radio show on source fm. For my very first show I combined what I do on YouTube with my radio show and I got the audience involved by asking me questions, under a popular YouTube tag #AskMegan. I remember feeling very disappointed with my first show, I was extremely nervous and there were quite a few 'umm' moments but, if it wasn't for that experience then I don't think I would of had the determination to carry on for as long as I did. My show was appropriately titled the 'Lost Wolf' show and I spoke about anything and everything, every Saturday between 4-5.30pm. At the time I was hosting my show, I was completely exhausted, what with my full time job and maintaining my blog and YouTube channel, it was an awful lot to take on. My show sadly ended on May 13th. I went out on a good note my last show was during Mental Health Awareness Week and I spoke about my own battles with Mental Health and got to tell some stories from listeners too. My radio show was one of my top greatest achievements and I would do it all over again!

February 8th | I had the incredible opportunity to model for the fabulous photographer Emma Griffin, for a fashion Editorial on behalf of Vintage Life Magazine. Emma is a photographer that I admire so so much! Her photo's are incredible and when I was offered this opportunity, I was completely over the moon! The magazine was released May 1st and when I had a copy in my hands it was one of the more surreal experiences but, one I will treasure for the rest of my life.

February 13th | All of my dreams came true! As I went to London to meet and see Tegan and Sara perform at the Roundhouse. Tegan and Sara have been such a massive inspiration to me for many years now, so meeting them was a very strange experience but one I'll treasure for the rest of my life! And after much anticipation I also visited the Alexander McQueen store, which may not seem like such a massive achievement but, to me it was! I idolized Alexander McQueen from a young age, his fashion and words spoke to me and he was the man that inspired me to work in fashion (baby steps though, of course)!

March 18th | I had my first gig in years and performed at Zee In The Park. Music has been one of my passions forever but, I've never really done much to put myself out there and when the opportunity came about for me to perform at Zee In The Park, I took the opportunity with both hands! The event was all in aid of Young People Cornwall, which is an organisation close to my heart as they're a youth group which I use to attend in my teens. I was very nervous in the run up to this performance but, I enjoyed every second.

April 22nd + May 12th | Was the time of makeovers as I got my nose pierced and dyed my hair a turquoise blue! As much as I love changing up my look, I don't think blue hair suited me but, looking back on it though it did look pretty cool!

May 8th | I did something different and attended a Cosplay Karaoke night with YAY Cornwall. I dressed up as Matt Smith's Doctor Who, sonic screwdriver and everything. Dressing up as a man, was actually an empowering experience and was a great excuse to wear my H&M suit too.

May 21st | After over a year without releasing a single Lookbook on my channel, I filmed a 90's inspired spring/summer Lookbook. I had the best time shooting this!

June 20th | I achieved a pretty big blogger goal and that was interviewing a celebrity but, not just any celebrity, Ria Mae! After seeing her opening up for Tegan and Sara in London, I fell in love with her music and her onstage persona. She is extremely talented and her saying yes to doing this interview, was an incredible moment for me!

July 22nd | To kick start my summer of prides, the first stop was trans pride in Brighton! It was my first time going to Brighton and I fell in love with the city!

August 5th | 2nd pride stop was Plymouth pride. I had the absolute pleasure of marching with YAY Cornwall!

August 26th | My final pride stop was of course Cornwall pride! I had an absolute blast! There were some hesitations before the big day, as in previous years pride has been held in Truro, but this year to celebrate the 10 year anniversary pride was moved to Newquay and I think the organizers did a very good job with pulling off this years event. The headliner act for Cornwall pride was previous X Factor boy band, Union J, who I actually met before they went on stage! Over Christmas Cornwall pride released a short film from the day, which I was in for a short snippet, so head over to their Facebook page and check that out!

October 1st | Over this year I've had some incredible blogging opportunities. One of which was working with online clothing brand Boutique of Molly. We collaborated on a blog post a little while back and are in preparation of working on our next one.

October 10th | I posted an emotional Instagram message in aid of World Mental Health Day.

October 31st | I did one of my favorite make-up looks of the year! Which was when I dressed up as a mermaid on Halloween! I did the whole fishnet tights over the head technique, worked a charm!

November 4th | I released my Autumn Lookbook in collaboration with Jam Industries. This is by far my favorite Lookbook I've filmed. It was so much fun getting to dance around in the leaves!

December 1st | I turned 21 and it was a pretty emotional time, as in my teen years I attempted suicide and I never thought I'd make it to 21 but, I did and I'm doing so much better now, than I did then. I have an incredible career, the worlds most amazing friends and a very supportive family.

December 10th | I payed tribute to one of my idols, Miss Amy Winehouse. This past year I started doing Musical Theatre with CDS. I've had the best time doing these classes, they've totally helped me to improve my confidence and my ability to sing in front of other people. This picture was taken back stage at our end of year show for Top of The Pops, I had an absolute blast performing at this!

December 22nd | And finally I couldn't have done my 2017 round up without including my girls! They're my complete rocks and I love them so much! This picture was taken from our Christmas party a couple of weeks back!

That was a quick re-cap of what 2017 was like for me, I wish you all a Happy New Year!
