If you didn't already know I have a massive girl crush on Miss DD Lovato! Now, I was one of those 'Disney Kids' growing up, I just loved everything Disney, including of course 'Camp Rock', 'Sonny With A Chance' and 'As The Bell Rings'. She was honestly my idol growing up and she still is today! Hearing about her experiences with mental health, eating disorders and growing up in front of the media, has made me love her even more! It just goes to show that she's normal just like the rest of us. Not only did she grow up in front of the media but, she grew up within her music as well and her evolution from her first album 'Don't Forget', to her BRAND NEW album 'Confident', is just insane! Her vocals on 'Confident' are out of this world and her whole new 'badass' persona on her latest record is tearing up the charts and inspiring women everywhere.. Demi is killing it!
My favourite songs from the album include.. of course, 'Confident'. This is just such an anthem! Empowering women to be confident, to stand out and to be bold, what's not to love about this song? It has a great beat, total badass attitude and don't get me started on the music video! Teaming up with Michele Rodrigues and breaking out of prison.. genius! And totally unexpected.
'Stone Cold', like many others when I first heard this song.. I cried. It's really emotional and the lyrics have such a deep personal meaning. Demi's vocals also sound INCREDIBLE! It's such a belter of a song and that's why I love it.
And finally, 'Waiting For Ya'. Where did this song come from? This song is pretty edgy and something very different to what Demi has done before. It's a bold statement targeting bullying and some of the crap she's put up with. It's personal but raw and passionate.
