Style Saturday | What I Wore For My 21st Birthday

December 1st 2017, I turned 21 and to celebrate in style I partied at Vertigo in Truro. There were lots of things to organise and I can proudly say I did it all on my own. From decorations, to cake, to music playlists and guest lists but more importantly.. what was I going to wear? I headed to Plymouth to search high and low for the perfect outfit. I wanted something classy and sophisticated that screamed 21st! I have no idea how I managed it but the second shop I went in, I found the perfect dress. I discovered a shop called Quiz and they're shop was filled with gowns, party dresses and jumpsuits. After making it past all the sequins and glitter, sitting on a rack was this perfect navy blue dress..

This dress stood out to me because it was unique. I love the dipped hem line, as I was completely undecided as to whether I was going to wear a short dress or a maxi dress, which made this dress the perfect compromise. I love the shape of the dress and how it nips in at the waist and the skirt flows down and doesn't cling to the mid drift. I love the lace detailing on the bust, it has a subtle glitter thread running through it. I'm so happy that I found this dress, it was an emotional moment, like I'd just found my wedding dress or something! To go with this perfect dress, I wore my prom shoes, these were originally from Next. They're completely gorgeous, everything a girl could want in a shoe. They're a beautiful champagne gold glitter color and even though I didn't manage to photograph it but it matched perfectly with my bag that I wore. To finish the look off I wore my birthstone necklace with my mother got me for my 18th and my trusty Pandora bracelet.

I couldn't have done this blog post without posting this picture of me and my bestie! It's one of my favorite photos from that night! We all had a brilliant time, sipping on prosecco, eating crisps and busting out some Beyonce dance moves! *insert hair flick emoji here* Before the party I did a cheeky tour of my party venue, which you can check out now over on my YouTube channel

Style Saturday | Oscars Party OOTD

As we've just overcome the busiest award season, with the Oscars, The Brits and The Grammy's. I thought I'd show you ones of my Oscars party looks. We had a pre-Oscars party at our local LGBTQ bar in Truro, Deja Vu and this is what I wore..

{Dress - Zara | Shoes - New Look | Lipstick - Ariana Grande for Mac Viva Glam}

As you guys know I love to dress up! So when the Oscars party came around I was super excited! I found this perfect dress in Zara on Oxford Street, it was an absolute steal at only £10, must have been left over sale stock from Christmas, it was also the last one left in my size as well.. it must have been fate! The detailing on the dress is beautiful with sequins that when you rub one way is gold, and the other way is black, I liked wearing them with a mixture. I also forgot to take a picture of the back it had a gorgeous drape, exposing the back, with a little tie in the middle. I had such an amazing night at the party and am now looking for any excuse to do this look again!

Style Saturday | NYE 'Great Gatsby' Look

For NYE, I went out to my local LGBTQ bar, Deja Vu in Truro, to celebrate the new year in style with my friends and loved ones. This year they had a 'Gangsta's and Moll's' dress theme, so I went as a Great Gatsby girl. I got this beautiful royal blue dress from a vintage clothing shop called, Tiger and Tootsie, which is just across the road from Primark. I'd been in there a few times just for a browse but, when this dress theme came out, I was so excited I rushed straight there and the first thing I saw was this dress, luckily it was not only my favourite colour but my size too.. it must have been fate! I managed to find a couple of nice accessories in my jewelry box to go with my dress and I think this overall outfit is just to die for.. I love it and had a fabulous time wearing it! Fingers crossed something will come up in the future so I can wear it multiple times, as it's just too lovely to go to waste!

Style Saturday | Truro Fashion Week

The first week of October brought us the annual 'Truro Fashion Week', to which I attended as many events as I could, around my busy work schedule! I made it to the main event on Wednesday 'Truro Trend' at the Cathedral, as well as the New Look live modelling on the Saturday alongside, Little Boutiques party. I had a fabulous time as always, meeting new people, chatting to other bloggers, and even meeting some of you! Which was just brilliant!

'Truro Trend'

{Dress, Headband and Clutch Bag, Marks and Spenser's | Boots, Primark}

The catwalk event held at the Cathedral, featured all of the little shops that make our city great including - New Look, Animal, Little Boutique, Magpie & Fox, East, Moss Bros, Enjoy Clothing, Mistral, The Vor Store, Plum, Bishop Phillpott, Jaeger and the designs from the textiles students at Truro High School. I was lucky enough to have a sneak peak back stage and take a few snaps. It was crazy hair and make-up teams were rushing around and models were practicing their poses, as well as backstage antics of Moss Bros flashing.. which I unfortunately didn't capture!

The show kicked off around 8 pm, after prosecco and a spot of shopping around the stalls. The shops I was most excited to see were, Little Boutique and Enjoy Clothing. I was also really impressed to see that Truro High School attended and showed off their amazing textiles students! It was a really unique idea and something that captured my attention, as it gives them a great platform to get their work out there in the open for the whole city to see, well done girls!

I also thought I'd give another little shoutout to my fellow AMA models, who made an appearance in the show, you girls looked fabulous!

Like last year the show was split into 2 halves, the first half was showcasing A/W casual outfit and the second half showcased evening wear. Here's some pics from the first half..

Here are some pictures from the second half..

I just want to say a massive thank you to totally Truro, for inviting me to his event, I had a great time as always! I also want to say thank you to my wonderful boyfriend Adam, who took these brilliant pictures for me at the event. He also recently started his own blog, which you should all check out, I couldn't be more proud of him - http://accio-aj.blogspot.co.uk/

New Look LIVE Models

Over the fashion week weekend, New Look showcased some live models featuring their latest trends. All of the models were in training, apart of the Impact modelling school group and their make-up was done by the benefit counter in boots, check them out..

Little Boutique | Cupcakes & Prosecco

Later on that day I attended the Little Boutiques event, which entailed cupcakes, prosecco and a 20% off discount! I managed to make a start on my Christmas shopping, while catching up with the owner Meg. LB always throw lovely events at they're all really friendly there in the store so whenever your next in Truro for a day of shopping pop in and say hi!

Well that's fashion week over now for another year! If you manged to go to any events, let me know which ones and what you thought of it down in the comments.

Style Saturday | Boardmasters 2016 | #OOTD

As you guys may know, last weekend I went to Boardmasters (hence the late blog post) and I thought I do a little #OOTD post of what I wore over the weekend, with a little summary of what bands and artists I saw too.

Thursday

Our journey to Boardmasters started on the Thursday, so we could set up our tent and have a look around. We went to pizza express in the evening and then for a wonder down on the beach. Today I wore - Denim jacket from H&M Coachella range, short dungarees from New Look, t-shirt from Jam Industries.

Friday

On Friday we spent the day at the beach to watch the skating, surfing and a couple of bands. We got back in time to see Catfish & The Bottleman who were AMAZING and we saw a bit of Chase and Status and Wolf Alice. As you can see, that day I put blue spray hair chalk in my hair, which I was obsessed with! I used the Urban Fudge one, it was so easy to apply and to get out the morning after. Today I wore - Denim jacket from the H&M Coachella range, t-shirt from New Look, jeans H&M and boot from Topshop.

Saturday

Saturday was by far my favorite day! We started the day off by seeing James Shead, who is a local musician and is someone that I'm going to be featuring on a later blog post, his performance was incredible and if you haven't already heard of him you should definitely check him out. We were lucky enough to be at the front of the stage for Foxes performance! I'm sure you'll all know by now just how much I love Foxes and this was the second time I've seen her live. Her set was amazing, I was singing along with every word, I had the best time! Shortly after Foxes, Jamie Lawson hit the stage, I hadn't heard much of his songs until then but what I did hear, I loved! In the evening we saw Gabrielle Aplin, I've been a fan of hers for ages and have wanted to see her perfom live and now was finally my chance, she was brilliant! Today I wore - T-shirt and kimono from New Look, jeans H&M, boots Topshop and 'Lost Wolf' necklace from Primark.

Sunday

I spent the majority of Sunday chilling with friends, having a cool beer in the sunshine and listening to some great music! My boyfriend and I got all glittered up in true festival spirit! There wasn't many bands we wanted to see that day but, we were all anticipating James Bays performance. As one of the headliners we knew he was going to be amazing and he didn't disappoint! Today I wore - Denim jacket from H&M Coachella range, crop top and sandals from Topshop, maxi skirt H&M and accessories from Primark.

Overall, we all had a pretty good weekend (despite near death experiences in mosh pits, that I didn't intend on being in). If any of you guys went to Boardmasters of any festivals this summer let me know how your experiences went and what you would do differently? If I could do anything differently it would have been to bring more blankets, a torch and bring several portable phone chargers!
