What I Bought Wednesday | Nip + Fab Products

Over my birthday weekend I popped into my local Superdrug store to treat myself to some new make-up. Nip + Fab recently brought out they're own make-up range which I've been dying to try out! So I thought what a perfect opportunity to spend some birthday money on their brand new range. I opted for 3 palettes which were on a 3 for 2 offer, I got a contour, blush and eyeshadow palette and with every 3 for 2 you got an exclusive lip kit, this is what I bought..

I put all of these products together and came up with this natural everyday make-up look. On my eyelids I've used the shades - Monroe, camel, cleopatra, heat and duchess. I love the shade 'duchess' it's a beautiful deep purple shade. For my contour I opted for the dark palette as I was fond for the shades - Soft honey and sunset. I also used the shade 'sugar' for a natural highlight. For my cheeks, I used the blush palette in the shade 'velvet'. And finally I used the matte liquid lipstick in the shade 'pink lemonade', after trying them I'm a massive fan of their liquid lipsticks and if you haven't tried any of the Nip + Fab range, I suggest this is the first thing you try out! I love this natural everyday look.

Let me know in the comments if you've tried out any of the brand new Nip + Fab range and what items you would recommend I try out next.

**REVIEW** Urban Decay Heat Palette

After months of anticipation and pre-orders, the Urban Decay 'Heat' palette has landed and it wasn't a disappointment! Just like all of the other UD palettes this one is high in pigment and contains a mixture of shimmer and matte shades. The colors in this palette are a different take from what other brands have been doing, they've gone for reds, burgundy, orange and a few neutral shades in there too. The palette was part of their summer collection and launched early August but, I think these tones can be pretty diverse and will be perfect for the Autumn season. Check it out..

Along with the 'Heat' palette Urban Decay also released a few other exclusive lines to compliment the palette. They released a few different shades of clubbing eyeliner and 2 shimmery lipsticks, I got mine in the shade 'Scorched'. Here's my finished look using all the products mentioned in this post.

This has got to be one of my favorite pallets that I own and if you haven't tried it out already then head down to your local Urban Decay and check it out for yourself!

#OOTD Embroidery Everything!

For this weeks 'What I Bought Wednesday', I took a little trip to New Look to check out their annual summer sale and I found a few gems. One of the biggest trends this summer is embroidery and that applies to everything, jeans, jackets, tops, shoes, you name it! If it isn't embroidered, it's not being talked about in fashion right now. I picked up these dark grey, floral embroidered jeans. I got them in the petite department they're an ankle glazer style, they are the best fit for my height and they're a skinny fit and they fit perfectly like a glove. To bring out the grey/purpler embroidery on the jeans, I got this tie dye effect sleeveless top, which has grungy rips in the back. This is a great outfit for just throwing on for summer.. I love it!

To go with today's theme, I thought I'd talk a little about a few other embroidered bits that I've picked up in New Look recently. {Left picture} I got this gorgeous casual khaki shirt, the embroidered elements makes this shirt look super girly and playful. This is probably one of my favorite items of clothing that I own and that's not just because I met Tegan and Sara while wearing it. {Right picture} This jacket was one of the best finds on my shopping spree! This colorful embroidered leather jacket is to die for! You can add it to any outfit, to give it that extra pop.. love love love!

What I Bought Wednesday | H&M Suit

Since Christine and The Queens came to the music scene it's been my goal to find an affordable women's suit and that day has finally come! While on a Plymouth shopping trip I popped into H&M, and I found this gorgeous suit. When I saw it, I was expecting it to come to like £70 but, was pleasently suprised to see the blazer was only £24.99 and the trousers £17.99. They also had a 30% off sale when you spent over £30, so it was even cheaper again. I was absolutely thrilled.

The first time I wore my suit it was actually for fancy dress (which kinda defeats the object but, oh well). I was partaking in Cosplay Karaoke with the local LGBTQ bar and a youth group called Yay. I dressed up as Matt Smith from Doctor Who. I wore my suit and bought a bow tie and braces, let's not forget the fez too! A colleague of mine has a son who had a sonic screwdriver, so I borrowed that for special effect! As you can see the finished look is pictured above!

What I Bought Wednesday | Oxford Street Purchases And I Finally Went To The Alexander McQueen Store!!

A few weeks back, as you may know from my previous post, that I jetted off to London to meet my idols Tegan and Sara. As I was there, I thought why not treat myself and go on a little shopping splurge here's what I bought..

I started my Oxford Street journey at the ever so glamorous Alexander McQueen store. A while back I did a mini blog post serious on Alexander McQueen and how much he inspired me, you can catch up on that by clicking here. Since I was about 15 years old, it was my dream to visit the McQueen store in London and buy one of his iconic scarves and I thought this trip would be the perfect time to do it, so I did look how pretty it is! I also got the brand new Alexander McQueen perfume, which smells amazing! I also treated myself to my first ever Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in the shade 'Love Liberty', which is a lovely warm red tone. I went to Zara and got a bargain on this sequin number! I recently attended and Oscars themed party and when I saw this dress, I just knew it would be perfect for the occasion! It was £79 reduced to £9.99!! Doesn't get better than that!

And finally I got myself some new basics from H&M a new pair of blue (good butt) jeans and a slouchy sweater for day to day wear. Adam spoiled me to some new boxers from Victoria Secret. And whats a trip away without some yummy Candy Kitten sweets.. I think I did quite well!

What I Bought Wednesday | Anna Saccone - Zodiac Collection

Last year as a birthday present for myself, I bought the Sagittarius necklace in rose gold, from the Anna Saccone Zodiac Collection. If you don't know who Anna Saccone is.. well she's apart of the virtually famous family 'The Saccenjolys', who vlog their everyday lives. Their family is made up of Anna, Johnathon and there 2 kids (and a bump), Emilia and Eduardo and lets not forget to mention their 6 dogs.

The inspiration behind her Zodiac Collection came from her dad. When her dad passed away she inherited a necklace from him, a Scorpio star sign on a gold coin necklace. The pair shared a bond by both being Scorpios, Anna shared that she was her dads birthday present the year she was born, as she was born the day before his birthday. Anna has no idea where the necklace came from, she wears it and cherishes it everyday. After teaming up with Stilnest, Anna wanted to create something that was a tribute to her dad and she wanted to giver her followers a good product that they could cherish and love, just as much as she loves her original necklace. So she created her own line of coin zodiac necklaces, which are available in Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold.

I went for the Rose Gold necklace in the Medium length and I've been wearing it constantly. It's an accessory that goes with everything and will never go out of style. I love it!

What I Bought Wednesday | Kylie Jenner Sinful Nail Colors

As you guys know I work at Superdrug and we've recently started selling the Kylie Jenner range from Sinful Cosmetics nail varnishes, so of course as the nail varnish addict that I am, I had to give them a try! Honestly, out of all the ones I've tried before, they don't compare to this range.. they're amazing! They last at least a week without chipping, which is brilliant for me as I work in retail and am constantly using my hands and always breaking my nails. The lock in top coat helps to strengthen and harden nails as well as keeping the long lasting color, what's not to love? To freshen things up Kylie has released 5 different collections in her range and here are the ones I've tried out..

These are from the 'King Kylie' Signature Collection range, with Gel Tech. This is probably my favorite range as the colors are divine! These 2 are in the shade 'Kreme De La Kreme', which is a beautiful rose gold metallic color and ''Kryptonite', which is an edgy metallic turquoise. This range comes with the 'Sinful Shine' top coat, which as I said is brilliant for leaving this nail varnish lasting all week long, with no chip in sight!

After the success she had from her 'King Kylie' collection she brought out 4 more ranges (one of which I don't have, which is the 'Denim and Bling' range), check them out...

This one is from the 'Trend Matters: Matte Range' and it's in the shade 'Kitty Pink', I love this shade of baby pink, perfect for spring/summer. It dries instantly, which I found a lot of matte nail varnishes do, which is great for me and any girl on the go!

This gorgeous coral is part of the 'Shimmer Matte Range' and is in the shade 'V.I.Peach', such a fab name for a nail varnish! Not only does this dry completely matte but it leaves a a pretty shimmer which glistens in the sun!

And finally we have 'Kurtsey' which is apart of the 'Demi-Matte Range'. I love this color, it's a beautiful pale blue/grey and like 'V.I.Peach' it has a slight shimmer to it. This one doesn't dry completely matte, I would say it's more like a gel, but I like that about it as it makes the color look more intense.

I hoped you enjoyed this little insight into the Kylie Jenner for Sinful Cosmetics range! As I said these are available in Superdrug, they're in very high demand, so catch them while you can! They're a total bargain at only £3 each, definitely go and give these a try while stocks last!

What I Bought Wednesday | Trying The Trend | Blue Eyeliner

As you guys know I work in Superdrug and recently I've had loads of customers asking me about blue eyeliners, blue eyeshadows and blue mascara's. Now personally, I've only ever worn blue eyeliner in the past for things like school disco's or fancy dress, so I decided to troll through the magazines and read up online about everything I could find out about the blue eyeliner trend - from what brands have the best products to how much should I apply... here's what I did as I took on the trend.

{Sleek 'Originals' palette | MUA 'Turquoise' eyeliner}

{Other products I used to create my finished look}

I ended up using the MUA eyeliner in the shade 'Turquoise' and I use it on my lower water line. I then took the bright blue eyeshadow shade from the Sleek 'Originals' palette and went over the top of what I had already done and smudged it out and did a slight flick to the side.

I'm really impressed with my finished look, I love how subtle the eyeliner looks and you could totally rock this day to day. This look is definitely more edgy than my normal make-up look but, I absolutely love it!

What I Bought Wednesday | Calm by Michael Acton Smith

I can't believe it's taken me this long to buy this book! After hearing lots of other bloggers raving about it, I knew this kind of book would be right up my street. As you guys know I sometimes get really anxious, especially in social situations, using public transport on my own and not to mention the day to day struggles, dealing with the public and the pressure that society puts on young people, to look and act a certain way. So I bought this book, to answer all my questions and to hopefully learn some new techniques of dealing with anxiety.

So far, I've been loving this book! It's not your typical tips and tricks book, it includes: helpful ways of coping with anxiety and how to feel calm, from meditation techniques, to how to run the perfect bath. It has a few activities, like colouring in pages and dot to dots and it has a journal aspect, asking what made you feel calm today? So you can look back on them when your anxious and remember that day, what made you feel calm and if you can continue to apply that technique to your 'anxious days'.

This book is filled with beautiful illustrations and if your like me and are a massive fan of cool typography, then check this book out, every page is a piece of art and extremely beautiful to look at. Not to mention all of the helpful advice this book has to offer. The few main themes that apply in this book are, Nature, Sleep, Travel, Relationships, Work, Children, Creativity, Food - which of course entail a variety of things but, they tend to be the main stresses and outlets in our day to day lives. Even if you don't have anxiety, this is a really great self help book and a brilliant read! I'd recommend it, to literally anyone!

If you're one step ahead of me and have already read this book, then let me know what you thought of it, down in the comments and what were your favourite parts?
